My primary counsellor was professional, knowledgeable, empowering, honest and compassionate. My time at CCFA equipped me with plenty of tools and skills required to not only face and accept my disease of addiction but to get and stay clean and work this new life of sobriety and recovery! I left treatment after 45 days with a better understanding of what addiction truly is and was prepared to face all the different aspects of my life upon being discharged. I am so grateful for this experience, the 12 steps, for making new friendships and for the impact all have had on my life. I want to thank everyone for giving me a chance! I would recommend CCFA to anyone who is ready and willing to go into rehab and get the help needed to live a fulfilling and joyful life.
After 25 years of drug usage, I found myself living in my own personal hell. Barely clinging onto life. I had an intervention done on me and was brought to ccfa Coburg. Upon entering, I was agitated, angry and terrified. After 1 week I looked around the room and asked one of the guys who seemed to be making great leaps in his journey and he gave me the best advise I ever got. Go to a meeting get a sponsor and work the steps. I did just that. All the staff made that possible, working through my life long trauma with Josh and cat. Having an open door policy with Chris. To the nurses who cared for me even when I was enraged. To the front office workers who made me feel at home and helped me with every concern I had. To the chef's red and "chef". To the cleaning staff and all the other councillors that provided amazing clinicals to help me redeveloped my ways of thinking. To Vivian keeping my family informed, to Nicola checking in on me, Meagan for getting me involved in group activities. Trevor for being the brunt of my anger. To lee for making me feel at home and laughing. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I am the person now who was burried under a lot of shame and grief. I am now free. The program works if you work it.
