Get the Care That Government Owned Drug Rehab Centers Can’t Provide

Even with a universal health care system in place, the money expended by government organizations is substantial due to some conditions being so difficult to overcome and requiring extensive treatments, sometimes also with no progress. One of these prominent issues is the overwhelming number of substance abuse problems.

Overall, addiction issues end up costing the Canadian health care system an estimated $8 billion. This not only includes medications, but also covers government funded inpatient drug rehab centers and treatment facilities that will often house addicts for long periods of time. Their stay includes meals, therapy sessions, and nurses, all of which cost money.

Because substance abuse problems are complicated and require ongoing care, it's difficult for government agencies to find the finances to offer premium care for these individuals. With around 47,000 Canadian deaths linked to addiction every year, there is obviously much room for improvement.

Fortunately, independent, privately owned drug rehab centers are attempting to take the weight off of the government by offering intensive care with skilled professionals which they can actually afford. With a larger staff and more resources at their disposal, they can offer more personalized care for longer periods of time. Some higher end luxury rehab facilities take things a step further with pampering akin to what one might receive on an upscale vacation.

With younger people aged 15 to 24 more likely to experience substance abuse disorders, as well as mental illness, in comparison to any other demographic, getting them care early is utterly important to their recovery and will usually require long spans of continued care. Government agencies may not be able to offer long term care in order to make room for other incoming patients.

Even after treatment and promising results, there is always a high risk of relapse for addicts. Having intensive professional drug rehab centers at your ongoing disposal could mean the difference between falling into a downward spiral of substance abuse, and finally recovering to your former self.
